I am an anthropologist, ethnobotanist and freelance researcher on food, farming, and environmental sustainability.

My work ranges from economic and ecological studies of inequality and cardamom production in Nepal and wild food plant knowledge in Argentina, to policy reports on changing local food production and consumption behaviours, ‘food culture’ in Scotland, and climate change.

I also write articles on topics ranging from beekeeping to environmental activism and seed saving, and am involved with a range of food growing and research projects related to food and farming.

I am passionate about wild food foraging, fermented foods, music making, food politics, and food and plant-related reading and writing.
